Stand by me /War no more

Sorry, no time to write a proper post. More, hopefully, by tomorrow with a recounting of how I set L. up with a stranger I met at Starbuck's. Or this weird theatre I went to yesterday. Or maybe another Sunday at a museum with my dad and the ongoing feelings of guilt, obligation and annoyance this causes as well as a growing degree of compassion and understanding. Or, I know you're all dying to know, whether or not I get this lovely blue dress from the Ann Taylor outlet I've been dying to get. It looks so cute on me. I nearly cried when I had to put it back for a more financially fruitful day. It will be, if it's still there, my reward for being me.

Anyway, will leave you with these gems. Though with more than 12 million views, you might have already seen them. Thought I'd share these anyway...

Bono! I love you. I want to have like ten thousand of your babies. (Obscure reference only those who've watched the American Beauty director's commentary will recall)

  1. What a great compilation. And what a great song. It's one of my favorites. I've never seen the washboard played to well. Thanks for sharing that.

  5. Hi Theresa, your welcome, it reminded me of that dancing around the world Youtibe video I posted a few weeks ago. Very uplifting. Shows what you can do, tiny budget, no name recognition, twenty million people viewing what you created. Awesome.

Hi Sara Lulu, Yay! I will. Thanks for stopping by.

Hi Elizabeth, I got it!!!!! Yay me. And oh boy did it make my day. It was worth using half a tank of gas to get there and back just for that dress.

Hi Awesome Sara, oh, thank you, your welcome and no problemo. I've been there and nothing like knowing someone else empathizes with your experience.

  6. I hope the Anne Taylor fairy gives you a big coupon so you can get the dress. Or maybe when you marry Bono he will buy you the dress,
    xoxo

  8. Hi La Belette Rouge, he/she did! I got the dress for much less than I would have paid for it a month ago. Now if Bono could get me that gorgeous dress from Dior...

Hi Drollgirl, It wasn't fun (putting the dress back), but it did make me appreciate getting the dress a month later. It is currently hanging in my closet making me smile whenever I see it.

Like me, Shanster! Short and sweet, and nice, c'est moi.

  9. I can't listen to the music because my sound isn't working but I did enjoy your post nonetheless. Love Bono too! But ten thousand babies is just too much!! Hope you get the outfit.

  10. Cheryl, I hope everything is going well for you. I see from the comments that you purchased your dress - and at a better price too! Some magic going on there, I think. :-) Stay happy and creative! Much love xx

  11. Hi Crystal Jigsaw, thanks, I'm glad you enjoyed my rather short and hurried post. And I did get the outfit, hurray!

Hi Carol Anne, ah, you have noticed my lack of posts this week. No worries, I'm perfectly well but preoccupied with getting some paintings fully completed. I picked up some paintings I'd put in a show earlier this week and was a little upset over the fact that I hadn't sold a single painting. So, the only thing to do was to immerse myself in work again, to focus on the joy of creating rather than how the world was reacting to my art. I must say that you are a major inspiration, the way you joyfully dive into your writing. Several times this week, when I felt myself sliding into worry, I would think of you and get back to work. Thank you for being such a positive influence on me, I really, really appreciate that, C xx
